BIOONE

BioOne is a non-profit organization that works in collaboration with scientific societies, publishers, and libraries to provide access to critical, peer-reviewed research in the biological, ecological, and environmental sciences sectors. The organization aims to preserve and promote a critical segment of bioscience research and best practices in scholarly communication by providing a sustainable online platform for 171 full-text publications. In 2013, collaborating with Dartmouth, the Georg... ia Institute of Technology, the University of Colorado Boulder, the University of Michigan, and the University of Washington, BioOne launched Elementa: Science of the Anthropocene. Elementa is new non-profit, university-affiliated journal that publishes original research reports and new knowledge on the Earth's physical, chemical, and biological systems during this era of human impacts; feedback between human and natural systems; and steps that can be taken to mitigate and adapt to environmental change. It is freely available worldwide on an open-access basis. Elementa reports on fundamental advancements in research organized initially into six domains: atmospheric science, earth and environmental science, ocean science, ecology, sustainable engineering, and sustainability.
