Benesit is a device that improves the posture of people when sitting in any chair, warning when they are in a bad posture. Back pain is the leading cause of workplace absenteeism and one of the most disabling health problems in the world, affecting 80% of the population at least once in their life. A key factor is the large number of hours that people spend sitting in the wrong posture at work, at home, playing video games, etc. Prevention is where the focus has to be, and that is why we have c... reated a device that is placed on the backrest of any chair and warns the user when they are sitting in an incorrect posture. The device will vibrate and the user will improve their position so that throughout the day a correct posture is maintained and back pain and all the damages related to poor posture are reduced. Our goal is that in the end the user achieves a natural posture and feels better. This would help both individual clients who would feel better, as well as companies that could put it on their workers to improve their working conditions, their productivity and reduce sick leaves. We are two biomedical engineers with a master's degree in innovation and entrepreneurship and we have been dedicated to this project full time for more than two years. Right now we already have 20 functional and tested prototypes and we are in the process of industrialization with Leitat.
