BackTracker is a social guide for backpacking. There is an enormous disconnect between backpackers and travel businesses. Backpackers are struggling to find the unique experiences that they go travelling for, and the businesses who provide these experiences are struggling to reach their market. Existing travel guides are generally in book form, are the opinion of one person, are not personalised to each backpacker and cannot offer real-time information. They do not take advantage of the fact that backpackers get most of their advice from other backpackers, hostels and locals.
