AquaLith has exclusively licensed a portfolio of lithium-ion battery patents from the University of Maryland.Based on the work of Chunsheng Wang, the Robert Franklin and Frances Riggs Wright Distinguished Chair, Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, in collaboration with Kang Xu, ECS Fellow, ARL Fellow, Team Leader, Senior Chemist at U.S. Army Research Laboratory. The technology includes a new ultra-high energy cathode, a novel silicon anode, and a non-flammable aqueous electrolyte.
