Apricot crawls and processes publisher's and advertiser's web pages' content, analyzes them, finds keywords and identifies their functions and relationships in the sentence, i.e. recognizes the action in the sentence, its doer, the things/persons affected by this action, the time and place of its occurrence, etc. Based on the analyzed texts on the page it understands the meaning of the webpage and matches corresponding URLs as semantically related pages.
